This policy explains what personal information Tehidy Park Golf Club collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Tehidy Park Golf Club is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We are a members' golf club on the Basset Estate in Cornwall. You can reach us at:

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the club:

  • Enquiry details. When you complete our enquiry form or use the online concierge, we collect the name, email address, telephone number (if you give it), the topic of your enquiry, and the content of your message.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working, and to understand general usage.
  • Measurement data. If, and only if, you give your consent, a Meta (Facebook) cookie helps us measure how our marketing performs. You can refuse this without any loss of function. See our Cookie Policy for detail.

How we use your information and our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide what you ask for (membership, visitor golf, societies, events, dining). Lawful basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in dealing with enquiries about the club.
  • To keep the website secure and running. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the site and diagnosing problems.
  • To measure marketing performance using the Meta Pixel. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time.

Cookies and tracking

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us run the club and the website, and only so far as they need it:

  • Our website hosting provider, who stores the site and its server logs.
  • The service provider that delivers our online enquiry form and concierge, which passes your message to us.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, but only if you have consented to the Meta Pixel.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.

International transfers

Where a provider such as Meta processes data outside the UK, that transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then for a reasonable period for our records, after which it is deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period for security. Consent choices are remembered on your device until you clear them or change your mind.

Your rights

You have the following rights over your personal information:

  • The right of access to a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • The right to rectification of inaccurate information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date at the top.
